European Week of Sport #EWoS

Frankfurt's very special heartbeats for Hockey

#BeActive!... so the great motto of Europe's Week of Sport. "What a wonderful possibility to get all kids motivated doing some sporty activities for free and to bring them closer to our hockeysport!", were my first thoughts and my decision to participate with my little Hockey-Kids book was instantly taken.
I was immediately hooked and followed the request for help I had seen at the federation Hessischer Hockey-Verband in Germany.
Three of Frankfurt's hockey clubs had the same enthusiasm and we started to plan that what we called our Hockey day.
So Tuesday, 26. September, we all arranged our stuff at this wonderful location at the Hafenpark and had a very enjoyable and unique afternoon: Clubs joining together to show kids the beauty of  hockey
Remembering this day, I still have this happy smile on my face. Watching kids playing hockey for the first time, feeling this common joy of the clubs let me feel the particularity of this event:
Stronger together - Together for hockey
As I didn't found any similar event so far in Europe, I feel proud of having been part of this one that will hopefully find a lot of imitators in the future.
Thank you TGS Vorwärts, TSV Sachsenhausen and Eintracht Frankfurt Hockey for that very special and unique teamwork! Can't wait repeating it next year!

First interview in English!

All about passions, efforts & HOCKEY

"Fantastic! An invitation to a first English chat about my little "Hockey-Kids!" These were my first enthusiastic thoughts about the message I got a few minutes ago. Since I realized that I would have to talk in English for half an hour with two moderators I probably wouldn't understand or -most probably- they wouldn't understand me...
But I had so many things I absolutely wanted to say and so much more I wanted to tell about my book and my passions to all my new little English readers that I accepted the challenge and got prepared...
Again and again I listened to my favourite two podcasts No 5 & 6 talking with Bernardo Fernandes from Selfpass (what an honour to be listed with him little later at the same site!) to get familiar with the moderators' pronounciation and pace.
So let's get started and listen to the result that has been an exciting pleasure for me and surely not the last one in English! I'm getting little more selfconfident to attempt the next challenge.
Very special thanks to John Lee and Matt Allan from The Reverse Stick in Australia for giving me this great opportunity and for being such lovely interview partners! See you soon with book 2 of my "Hockey-Kids" books series... ;)
